Past Election Cycle

2024

In 2024, the Q Trust donor network contributed $80,452 to recommended races and local partners.

MAJOR WINS

We helped elect or defend pro‑equality representatives in states where policy momentum was on the line. In Arizona, Christine Marsh (Senate 28) and Judy Schwiebert (House 20) secured wins that advanced our goal of building pro‑equality legislative influence. Kansas saw Jeff Pittman (Senate 5) and Jo Ella Hoye (House 17) win critical victories to chip away at Republican supermajorities. Michigan yielded both Michigan Supreme Court seats with Bridget Mary McCormack and Elizabeth Welch, and Christine Morse (House 61) also won in the State House. And in North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper was re‑elected—an anchor in the fight for progressive policy.

REPRESENTATION MATTERS
These victories strengthened pro‑equality majorities and protected key leadership roles across multiple states. They illustrate how targeted investments can preserve openings for policy change and representation at the state level.

PUSHING FORWARD
The 2022 donor contributions created tipping-point moments in key states, delivering both short-term wins and long-term organizing gains. While not every seat flipped, the successes in Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, and North Carolina moved the needle toward greater pro‑equality representation, and the close calls in other states laid important groundwork for future victories.

2022

In 2022, the Q Trust donor network contributed $559,700 to recommended races and local partners.

2020

Formed in 2020, we collectively contributed $1,453,625 to recommended races and local partners.

MAJOR WINS

In its inaugural 2020 cycle, The Q Trust donor network collectively contributed $1,453,625 to recommended races and local partners—an ambitious first investment that delivered meaningful impact. Our support helped secure major victories across battleground states: we flipped all three targeted Anchorage State House districts in Alaska, strengthening a pro-equality governing coalition; we won critical seats in Arizona with Christine Marsh (Senate District 28) and Judy Schwiebert (House District 20); we helped elect Shevrin Jones and Michele Rayner to the Florida legislature; and in Georgia, we flipped key State House seats, laying essential groundwork for future progress. These early wins not only brought new leadership to the forefront—they also demonstrated the power and potential of strategic, values-driven giving.

REPRESENTATION MATTERS
Our investments strengthened local leadership in places where policy and protections were most at risk. Leaders like Christine Marsh, Ivy Spohnholz, and Liz Snyder brought critical voices to governance in Anchorage; in Florida and Georgia, emerging pro-equality lawmakers helped expand the terrain of possibility for statewide protections.

PUSHING FORWARD
The inaugural 2020 cycle showed that strategic philanthropy can deliver both wins and movement-building. By helping flip key races in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, and Georgia, the Q Trust drove short-term victories and surfaced new leaders. At the same time, competitive losses sharpened the organizing infrastructure and momentum, laying a foundation for future cycles of progress.
